Welcome to Eastlake 1st Grade Dual Immersion

Welcome to the DLI First Grade Program!

We are excited to get to know you and work with you and your first grader this year.  This blog is a place to get information during the school year to help make your child's first grade experience successful.  Please plan to check here every week for updated information about what we are learning and homework for the week.  You will also find tabs to help answer questions about different programs, links to useful websites, word wall lists for the week, and other useful information.

Following are things you can do right away to prepare for the year:
  • Explore the tabs on this blog to see what information is available and learn about class expectations in first grade.
  • Record where your child needs to be at the end of the day. Click here to go to form.
  • Sign up to volunteer here or fill out form (blue or pink) in homework folder.
  • Fill out paperwork in homework folder sent home on First Grade Interview Day and return it to school as soon as possible:
    • Parent Questionaire (green)
    • Behavior Contract/Class Dojo Form (yellow)
    • Volunteer Form (pink or blue)--Or you can sign up online using the link above.
Most of our supplies will be shared with everyone.  But if students would like to have their own personal supplies, following is a list of items that we will be using:

(Notice:  The items on this list will be used during the regular school day.  They may be brought from home on a voluntary basis.  Otherwise, they will be furnished by the school.)
  • two or more masks (it would be helpful to always have an extra each day, in case one gets dirty.
  • storage container for mask (baggie or plastic container
  • inexpensive headphones
  • small pencil case
  • pencils (NO PENS)
  • erasers
  • crayons (no more than box of 24, and no markers)
  • student scissors
  • glue stick (no white or liquid glue)
These items will be kept in student's backpack to carry between classrooms.  Please leave toys or items you don’t want to lose at home. Make sure all items (e.g. coat, backpack, lunch box, etc.) have your name on them.

If you would like to donate any items to our classroom, here are things we could especially use:
  • hand sanitizer (especially large bottles)
  • pencils
  • pencil cap erasers
  • Clorox wipes
  • small prizes for treasure chest
